Discover our watch collection Sinn Spezialuhren, the German manufacture founded in 1961 in Frankfurt am Main by Helmut Sinn, a former Luftwaffe pilot and blind-flying instructor. Since 1994, under the leadership of Lothar Schmidt, Sinn has become a world benchmark for instrument watches: space chronographs certified by NASA and ESA, mission timers (EZM) for special forces, the Frankfurt Financial District Watches and diving watches made from German submarine steel. Proprietary technologies such as TEGIMENT, DIAPAL, Ar-Dehumidifying and HYDRO place the brand at the forefront of robustness and reliability. In 2012, Sinn drove the world's first technical standard for pilot's watches (TESTAF), the basis of the DIN 8330 norm established in 2016.

Who founded Sinn Spezialuhren?
Helmut Sinn (1916-2018), a former Luftwaffe pilot and blind-flying instructor, founded the company in 1961 in Frankfurt am Main under the name Helmut Sinn Spezialuhren. From the outset its core business was navigation watches and pilot's chronographs.
Why are Sinn watches famous in space?
The Sinn 140 S chronograph accompanied German physicist and astronaut Reinhard Furrer on the Spacelab D-1 mission (1985), proving that a mechanical automatic movement works in weightless conditions. Later, the 142 S took part in the Mir-92 mission with Klaus-Dietrich Flade and in D-2 aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia (1993).
Who runs Sinn today?
In 1994 the engineer Lothar Schmidt acquired the company and renamed it Sinn Spezialuhren GmbH, launching a strategic reorganisation focused on technology. Under his leadership the brand has developed its best-known technologies (TEGIMENT, DIAPAL, Ar-Dehumidifying, HYDRO) and the famous Mission Timers EZM for police, military and emergency services.
